Victory Cruise Lines is set to enrich its Great Lakes voyages with the debut of the “LakeLorian” program in 2025, a novel educational initiative developed in collaboration with the National Museum of the Great Lakes. The program will feature a LakeLorian, an onboard expert dedicated to enhancing guests’ understanding of the Great Lakes through engaging lectures and discussions aboard the Victory I and Victory II ships.

Kate Fineske, executive director of the National Museum of the Great Lakes, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting, “The Victory I and Victory II will be floating extensions of our institution, and we look forward to sharing the science and history of the Great Lakes together.” This unique collaboration aims to deepen travelers’ appreciation of the region’s ecological and historical significance.

Each day, the LakeLorian will host a “Lake Chat” in either the ship’s Tavern or Compass Lounge, offering insights into the science and stories of the cities and towns visited. Additionally, the expert will present exclusive lectures highlighting current exhibits from the National Museum of the Great Lakes, enriching the cruise experience with valuable educational content.

John Waggoner, chairman and founder of Victory Cruise Lines, shared his positive impression of the museum and the synergy of the partnership: “Our guests are eager to learn about the Great Lakes beyond just visiting ports; this partnership will significantly enhance the guest experience.”

Victory Cruise Lines is gearing up for its relaunch in April with a 10-night cruise through the St. Lawrence Seaway and Canadian Maritimes, hosted by John and Claudette Waggoner. The upcoming season will include 36 cruises featuring all five Great Lakes, with stops at iconic destinations such as Mackinac Island, Chicago, Sault Ste. Marie, and Niagara Falls, offering travelers a comprehensive exploration of this majestic region.
