The post-pandemic challenge for corporate America is to design hybrid and flexible work environments, ensure all job levels enjoy those benefits and require managers to lead rather than be individual performers who ignore their teams, writes Anne Helen Peterson. “The past year has only clarified just how bad these managers are at their job,” Peterson writes, “because if you’re generally bad at communicating, you’re probably even worse at communicating remotely while everyone on your team is experiencing peak anxiety.”
