Wizz Air expects a full recovery in 2022

European LCC Wizz Air chief executive has stated that the airline expect’s a full recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic by 2022.

“From my perspective, 2022 should be a fairly robust year in terms of delivering not just the volume of traffic but also the financial performance attached to it,” CEO of Wizz Air, Jozsef Varadi said while speaking at the Paris Air Forum. “I’m looking at 2022 as a year of full recovery for Wizz Air.”

The carrier’s chief executive added that Wizz Air is currently operating at around 85% of 2019 levels, adding: “We are going to be exceeding 100% going into peak summer – the end of July-August period.”

Earlier in April 2021, the Budapest-based Wizz Air forecasted that recovery signs might appear in the summer season of 2021, despite the poor financial expectations for 2021.

“We have never lost focus on our future and we are certainly going to be one of the structural winners coming out of this crisis,” Varadi stated.
