Wyndham Surpasses 100 Hotels Across Mexico Expansion

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has surpassed 100 open hotels across Mexico, marking a major milestone in one of its fastest-growing international markets. The expansion underscores the company’s aggressive development strategy and the increasing importance of Mexico within its global portfolio.
Over the past five years, Wyndham has nearly doubled its footprint in the country, with properties now spanning more than 50 cities and representing 15 distinct brands. The broad geographic and brand coverage reflects strong demand across both established tourist destinations and emerging markets throughout Mexico.
Company executives highlighted the strategic significance of this growth. Gustavo Viescas, President for Latin America and the Caribbean, noted that Mexico continues to deliver strong performance for Wyndham and its partners, supporting ongoing expansion into high-potential locations. The company remains focused on maintaining consistent guest experiences while strengthening relationships with owners and developers.
Mexico’s tourism sector continues to provide a strong foundation for hotel growth. The country welcomed approximately 47.8 million international arrivals last year, generating close to $35 billion in foreign exchange revenue. National tourism authorities are now targeting a position among the world’s top five most-visited destinations by 2030, further boosting investor confidence in the hospitality sector.
Wyndham’s expansion has been driven in part by a series of strategic partnerships with regional operators and hotel groups. These include collaborations with Grupo MX Hotels, Decameron All-Inclusive Hotels & Resorts, Viva Resorts by Wyndham, and Palladium Hotel Group. Such partnerships have enabled Wyndham to scale efficiently while leveraging local expertise and market knowledge.
Maria Carolina Pinheiro, Vice President of Development for Latin America and the Caribbean, emphasized that Mexico remains one of Wyndham’s most active development markets. She noted that hotel owners continue to be attracted by the strength of Wyndham’s brand portfolio, its global distribution capabilities, and its operational support.
The milestone highlights Wyndham’s ability to capitalize on sustained tourism growth and evolving traveler demand in Mexico. With continued investment and partnerships, the company is well positioned to expand further as both leisure and business travel continue to rise across the region.
